We have held many beautiful wedding ceremonies and receptions at Michaela’s Restaurant, which is a unique and special venue, well worth considering.

Michaela’s seats 50 guests per floor. However with our round tables which we have available for functions (eight in total, seating eight guests at a table) we can comfortably seat 60 to 70 maximum on our bottom floor. If you are going to require a long head table then 60 is the maximum comfortable figure to go on.

Booking Options:
Two options are available to the bridal party:
1. Book the entire venue for a seating (day or night). This option comes with a venue fee of R6000.00.
2. Book the entrance level floor which will then be reserved exclusively for your party. Venue fee: R3000.00, based on a 50ppl booking. If you would like exclusivity for a lesser amount of guests this fee will go up.
Catering:
In addition to the venue fee the menu’s are priced per head. The final food bill price will be based on the final head count given by you a week in advance. If additional people are added on they will be counted as additional cost per head. (Please remember the DJ and Photographer in your count.)
However if less folk arrive then are quoted in your final head count, the figure quoted will stand as our ordering and planning will be based on that figure.
We also add a standard 10% gratuity to the total food and drink bill.

Corkage:
Corkage is priced at R30.00 per 750ml please bare this in mind when considering magnums and box wine.
The non-refundable venue fee will secure your booking at your earliest convenience.
We offer a Welcome cocktail on arrival for your guests at R10 per glass (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options) This is entirely up to you, but we find that it works quite well as an ‘ice-breaker’.
Our bar however is available for use by your guests while waiting for the bridal party to arrive and we are happy to manage a bar tab for you set at a fixed amount. We will keep you posted on the progress of this tab through the evening. Once it is up we will then run a cash bar but our waiters will continue to provide the service of moving with the drinks and money between guests and the bar.
Included:
Michaela’s provides the following: the food, the service of the meal, the basic set-up (not including décor) and the basic clear up (not including décor). We provide white linen tablecloths and serviettes, silver wear, crystal glasses and flute glasses.
We do not provide any Décor – but can recommend Mariana Wilken of East Coast Events for Décor and Wedding Co-ordinating who has successfully co-ordinated a great deal of Weddings and functions at Michaela’s. See www.eastcoastevents.co.za for further info and contact details.
Not Included:
We do not provide music beyond our basic restaurant system.
We do not provide wedding cakes but can recommend service providers.
Free burning and free-standing candles are unfortunately not an option. Candles themselves are welcome but they need to be contained appropriately.
We do not provide a car-guard but it is sometimes requested and is a service which we can organise for an additional fee of R80.
NO responsibility is taken for accidental breakages to goods brought in by the wedding party or decorators and items not collected within reasonable time after the event will be disposed of.
Music and Dancing:
Dancing space is provided downstairs once dining is finished by moving out two of the round tables or the equivalent square tables depending on your choice. This is done quickly and efficiently by our waiters and has proved to work well in the past. If you hire out the entire venue then the option of dancing upstairs is also available.
We lock-up our venue at 12:00am, which means that by 11:45, the last song is played and last round served.
Availablity:
Set-up for an early evening Reception normally takes place on the day from 10am, provided the downstairs area is only being used, should you require the entire venue for a pm wedding , the downstairs area can be set from 10am and the upstairs area after our lunch which ends at 2pm – we would be happy to assist with the setup for you. If it is a lunch time wedding then the night before.
We do not book weddings during season. Season being - the Easter Weekend and Easter School Holidays and the December School Holiday period, 1 Dec – mid Jan
